Individual Therapy Toronto
For Adults Who Want More Than Coping Strategies

Individual Therapy in Toronto That Helps You Reconnect With Yourself
When life feels heavy or confusing, it can be hard to know where to turn. Therapy offers a calm, supportive space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and explore what’s been weighing on you.
In individual therapy, your therapist meets you right where you are. Together, you’ll look at your thoughts, emotions, and patterns in a collaborative way. Over time, this can bring clarity, relief, and a deeper understanding of what’s been keeping you stuck.
If you’re looking for a therapist in Toronto who takes a relational, body-based approach, you’ve found the right place.
A simple way to begin:
Schedule a free 20-minute consultation
Meet your therapist and ask any questions
Begin therapy at a pace that feels right for you
Who This Is For
We work with adults (18+) across Toronto’s East End and virtually throughout Ontario who are:
- Feeling stuck or unsure what to do next
- Struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, or disconnection
- Navigating relationship challenges
- Going through life transitions
Often, people come in when they’ve tried to figure things out on their own — but feel like they’re going in circles.
Progress Through Connection and Understanding
Your therapy journey is uniquely your own. These sessions aren’t just conversations. They’re active, relational spaces where we notice patterns in thought, emotion, sensation and connection, in real time.
Our team of Registered Psychotherapists, Anita Mikaelian RP, Nadia Stolpner MSW, RSW, Colleen Helgason, RP, Natalie Floros-Wright, RPQ, and Chrissy Griffiths, RP, draw on Gestalt therapy, trauma-informed movement therapy, somatic psychotherapy, EMDR and art therapy. Rather than applying a single method, we work with what your nervous system and story actually require.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, perfectionism, relationship challenges, or a sense of stuckness, therapy offers a place to feel more grounded, understood, and supported.

Actively Engage with Change
As therapy unfolds, you may notice shifts not only in how you think, but in how your body responds; more steadiness, more space, more choice.
This work can help you build clarity, confidence, and resilience; allowing you to move forward with a deeper sense of who you are and what you want for your life.
What to Expect From Sun & Moon Therapy
We usually recommend starting with weekly sessions for the first 4–6 weeks. Coming in regularly at the start helps build momentum and gives your therapist a chance to understand your patterns, history, and goals before adjusting the pace.
From there, we work together to figure out what makes sense. Some people move to biweekly sessions once things feel more settled. Others prefer to continue weekly for a longer period. There’s no fixed timeline.
Therapy isn’t a quick fix, but most people begin to notice real shifts within the first 6–8 sessions. Not dramatic overnight changes, but a growing sense of clarity, more space between a feeling and a reaction, or an ability to see patterns that were previously invisible. That’s usually where the deeper work begins.

Frequently Asked Questions
When Should You Start Therapy?
Do you offer both in-person and online individual therapy in Toronto?
Yes. We offer in-person sessions at our location in Toronto’s East End (The Beaches neighbourhood, 579 Kingston Rd) and virtual sessions for clients anywhere in Ontario. You can start with one format and switch as your life changes.
How many sessions will I need?
There’s no fixed answer, but many people begin noticing real shifts after 6–8 sessions. Some clients work with us short-term around a specific challenge; others find longer-term therapy supports more meaningful change. We’ll check in regularly and adjust together.
How do I know if I'm ready for therapy?
You don’t have to feel ready. Most people start therapy feeling uncertain or unsure what to expect. If you’ve been thinking about it, that’s usually enough of a signal. The first step is just a conversation.
Can I switch therapists if it's not the right fit?
Yes. Finding the right fit matters, and we’d rather you tell us than stop coming. If you’d like to work with a different member of our team, just let us know and we’ll make it work.
